CONCERT AT ARAPETI.
A PLEASANT FUNCTION. A highly successful concert and dance was held in the Y.M.C.A., Arapew, last Saturday, September 22nd, by Mr Hinton’s party. The foliowmg contributed to the programme, whicu was well appreciated by the large audience which, had gathered in tne hailS. Dunn, song.; A. Martin, song; A. Budge -and Co., quartette; A. Jacnson, song; Mrs A. Jackson, song; C. Doig, recitation; P. Jackson, song; Mrs H. Aitchison, song; J. Hinton, song; A. Budge, song; J. Jeff, song;; A. Newett, song; L. Johnston, song. At t-he conclusion of the concert, Mr Hinton gave a very interesting demonstration in hypnotism, showing in a very forceful manner the power of suggestion, and its control over our actions.
The floor was then cleared for the dancers, the hall, which had been decorated for the occasion, presenting a gay appearance. Dancing was continued till midnight brought the entertainment to a close. The party will appear in Shannon, on Tuesday'week in, connection with the Queen .Carnival, .which is'now in full swing.
