, , CONCLUDING DAY. DEMAND WINS TAIHOA HACK. Tlie weather was beautifully fine for the concluding day of the Otaki Maori Racing Club's meeting yesterday, but rain overnight had made the going soft. A pleasant variation to the racing was the performance of the Shannon Maoriland String Band, under the direction of Mr J. MacMillan, which pleased the large attendance greatly wish J a series of choruses and a haka. The Avondale Jockey Club’s Spring. Meeting concluded to-day. The weather was showery and the going heavy. There was a large attendance. The totalisator put through £44,249 10/ compared with £56,652 10/ for the corresponding day last year. The grand total was £101,139 against £115,522 10/ last year, a decrease of £14,383. Results:—

Queen March challenged at the distance, and the two fillies were racing le\ r el thirty yards from the post when .Pompey shot up on the outside and the latter won by a head, with a similar distance between second and third.
