THE DAIRY SEASON.
PAY-OUTS FOR AUGUST,
The pay-outs of the various dairy companies for t’he month of August, which are to be made to-day, will be based on the following rates: —
The Levin Co-operative Dairy Co. paid 1/7 per lb, and £d per lb over the whole of last, season.
Ravenswood (cheese) 1/5% per lb; Tiakitahuna (cheese) 1/8; Manawatu Reliance (cheese) 1/8; Awahuri 1/-6; Kairanga 1/5; Newbury 1/6. The Rongotea Company paid out £4SOO, based on the rate of 1/6 per lb. The Shannon Dairy Company paid out at 1/6 per lb, and this, together with an extra lid over the whole of last season, made the amount paid out between £II,OOO and £12,000. The New Zealand Farmers’ Dairy Union has advanced a nayment ot £5770 3/5, being at the rate of 1/55 per lb butter-fat. This includes the cost of collecting the cream at the farmers’ gates. When this butter arrives in England it is expected to realise a price which will enable an ex. tra payment to be made on the advance. °lf the prices on the London market retain their present level a further Id per lb will be available on the month’s output.
