A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION.

Tiie annual ball in aid jof tjhe Catholic .Ghujrcli fund took place in the Druids’ Hall on Friday evening last. There was a gio.Qd attendance and all had a most enjoyhle time, the committee doing everything possible to ensure their patrons having a happy; time. The floor was in excellent order, while' the music which was supplied by Smith’s orchestra left nothing wanting. The ha'll was simply but effectively decorated with lines of black, green and gold streamers, which formed a canopy with coloured balloons suspended in clusters, while tfre windotws and 1 doorways were decorated with nikau palms, pungas and arum lilies. The stage and supper room was. similarly decorated, the whole presenting a pleasing effect. . A, dainty sit-down supper was provided by the ladies’committee. The duties of M.G. were most capably carried out by Mr J. Crowther. Dancing was indulged in until the early hours of Saturday morning, everyone agreeing that it Was one of the most enjoyable functions of the season, and the committee are to be complimented on the excellent arrangements made. Among the ladies present were Mrs H.
