LEVIN MARKET.
KEEN DEMAND FOR FAT STOCK
A small yarding of stock came forward at the Levin weekly sale yesterday, prices being unchanged with a keen and unsatisfied demand for all classes of fat stock, sheep being, particularly short. There was only cow beef offering, and that of medium quality, but everything was quitted •at. satisfactory prices. Pigs were m fair supply and, sold at late rates. Quotations are as follows Pigs :We an erp, 18s to 225; extra good to 265; stores, 25s to 355; ligh porkers 35s to £2; heavier to £2 13s; porkers £2 15s; baconers £3 14s to £3 16s. Sheep: Light fat mixed sex 30/6: good ewe hoggets 275; mixed hoggets 20/6. Cattle- Fat cows £4 10s; forward cows £3 9s to £3 19s; store cows ' to £2; 18-month .heifers £4 to £6 for a pen of well-bred and well-done Jersey grades; springing: heifers £4 to £8; dairy cows £3 10s to £5 ss: bulls 30s’ to £3.
