- ♦ ■ MATCH WITH MANAWATU A team of six ladies' and twelve men from Pahnerston North played a match with a team from the Shannon Club on Saturday find a most enjoyable day was spent. The'visiting men were defeated, only winning five matches out of the twelve played. However, the ladies saved the situation, winning all their gjwnes. so that on the aggregate Manawatu won by 11 to 7. The results were as follows, Manawatu being mentioned first:— Mrs .Christie defeated Mrs Saxon, Mrs A. Seifert defeated Mrs Johnston, Mrs L. A. Abraham (captain) defeated Mrs Morgan, Mrs Pope defeated Miss Goodwin, Miss McMillan defeated Mrs Dinnie, Mrs Warburton defeated Miss Cole" men: P. L. Sim defeated Murphy, F. J. Nathan lost to Morgan, N. Gibbons defeated Saxon. R. S. Abraham lost to 11. Seifert, Spencer lost to Stewart, Gabriel defeated Grainger, T. Stubks lost to Daniel], Hubble lost to Gagliardi. Ostermaii defeated Anderson, A. Wright defeated Marchbanks, J. Grant lost to Grylls, Tennant lost to Hey. Abbott.
