DESIRABLE INVENTIONS.
Through the British Institute of Patentees Sir William Bell offers 12 suggestions as to inventions needed by the world. It is presumed that in the following list he confines himself to : inventions not beyond the bounds of assumed possibility: —

'Methods to reduce frietiou. Practical ways of utilising the tides. A process to extract phosphorus from vulcanised indiarubber so that it can be boiled up and used again. A pipe that can be cleaned easily and effectively. V temperance drink that will keep and yet not pall'on the palate. Taking moving pictures, .„.
