Cabinet has decided to appoint another Supreme Court Judge. At an inquest at Durham gaol after an execution, the coroner declared that capital punishment was no deterrent uf crimes. He favoured flogging and penal servitude in preference to the barbarous system of executions. What the murderer really dreaded was not “The anti-Semitic agitation that is being carried on so vigorously in America just now,” states the Christian World, “is leading some Christian ministers to show in an unusual way their lack of sympathy -with such propaganda. An example was a recent exchange of pulpits between Rabbi Abram Simon, of the Eight street Jewish Temple, Washington, and Rev. Walter A. Morgan, of the Mount Pleasant congregational Church, in . the same city. “America holds no place-for antagonism between Jews and Christians,” Mi*. Morgan told the Temple congregation; “ America-wants the best that, there is in you, and it wants 1 lio. best. that, is in . mo.”
