PIGS STILL FIRM. The yarding at the Levin weekly sale on Tuesday was about up to t.he( usual thing for the last few weeks. Pigs were again in strong demand at late rates, with small offerings, 'and sold according to quality. A pen of poor quality weedy weaners sold ■as low as 11s, but good average sorts brought from 18s to 26s for exceptionally good 1 . . Dairy cattle were yarded in larger numbers than usual, several pens of heifers coming forward, a choice line of ten grade Jersey heifers yarded by Messrs Skerman and Podevin, being Cleaned at £ll a head. Older dairy stock was neglected. Sheep sold well at late rates. Quotations are as follow Pigs: Weaners 11s to 265; stores 303 to 335; light porkers £2. 5s to £2 15s; heavier sorts £3 4s to £3 10s. Sheep: fat hoggeits to 225; fat ewes 295; cull wethers 18s 6d; store ewes 14s. 1 >l*l*l Cattle: Fat cows £4 5s to £4 12s; forward cows £2 to £2 12s 6d; store cows 15s to 30s; springing Holstein heiHeirs £9 12s 6d; good grade Jerseys £11; other £4 7s 6d, dairy cows indifferent quality £3 15s to £4; good 10 months heifers £3 to £4.
