RUGBY UNION AFFAIRS.

REP. PLAYER TO EXPLAIN

The weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Horowhenua Rugby Union was held on Tues- ’ day evening, Mr 3. Procter being in the chair. Also present: Messrs Sciascia, McMillan, Casey, Austin, Hutchings, Grimstone, and the secretary, Mr L. Carmichael. The following motions were carried Proposed by Mr Procter, seconded by Mr Sciiascia, That the Northern Juniors assemble at Levin at 1.30 on Saturday, for the game against Southern at Otaki, Mr Grimstone to be manager. Proposed by Mr Hutchings, (Seconded by Mr. Austin, That the Weraroa v. Foxton'Yv Grade game be awarded to Foxton, and Bull and Ryder be given a severe warning, such to stand against them should they again appear before the Union. Thei two men mentioned played fourth grade after being classified as third grade players. Proposed by Mr Procter, seconded by Mr Sciascia, That Te Kawau SubUnion be notified that this Union cannot seie its way clear to play them this season. Proposed by Mr Procter, seconded by Mr McMillan, That Fry, of T.okomaru, be paid insurance amounting t o £& Proposed by Mr Sciascia, seconded by Mr Hutchings, That H. Jacob be requested to appear before the Union to state why he did not make the trip to Wellington,, and also failed to notify the Union that he did not intend to travel. Proposed by Mr McMillan, (Seconded by Mr Sciascia, That a Union Ball be held in Levin on September sth. Accounts amounting to £1 10s were passed for payment. Votes of thanks to the chair, and' to Mr Nash for the use of his rooms, concluded ther meeting.
