THE LEVIN MARKET.
There was a good yarding of sheep and cattle at tne Levin weekly, sale yesterday, some good' quality stock being offered. Six hundred good hoggets were penned, but failed to realise the vendors’ reserve. Good dairy stock was in demand apd met with a ready sale. Pigs were again in short supply,- last week’s improved rates bemg maintained. Prices were as follows.: —
Pigs —store pigs 13/- to 17/-, porkers 27/6 to £2 6s. Sheep.—Woolly hoggets 22/6; empty ewes £l.
Cattle.—Good dairy cows, close to profit £l4 5s to £ls; poorer sorts £2 5s to £2 7s 6d; springing Jersey heifers, in calf to pure-bred Jersey bull £9 to £l3 15s; potter bulls to £2 15s.
