TENDERS FOR PIPES ACCEPTED

At a special meeting of the Shannon Borough Council last night the various tenders for the supply of pipes for the water-supply were considered in committee. The following tenders were accepted : Eight-inch Pipes.—Wanganui Spiral Pipe Company, £3719 2s. Six-inch Pipes.—J. Duthie and Co., Wellington, Mannisman, pipes, £937 9s Gdi. Four-inch pipes.—J. Duthie and Co., Wellington, £463 Is. Bd.

The Council ha\s not so far discussed the Health Officer’s report, which, as reported in last issue, states the Mangahao dam water will not be fit for use for two years after the dam is completed.
