WORTHY HOME FOR LODGE. A very interesting ceremony took place in Levin on. Thursday when the new Masonic Temple in. Stanley Street was opened by; R.W. Bro. George Russell, Provincial Grand Master for the Wellington! district, assisted hy a number of Grand Lodge officers. The building is 'not only a credit to the town but. to the whole of the district, being we understand the first structure of its kind: in the Wellington district to- be erected in brick. Mr W. Jamieson, of Palmerson North, wa‘s the lairchitect responsible for the plans and.: the work of construction wtete carried out by Mr G. K. Douglas, of Levin. The beauty of the interior i,s greatly enhanced by the furnishings, all manufactured "from magnificently grained New Zealand timbers by Mei-srs. Harvey 'and Co., Ltd.. These were on view in their show window a few weeks ago-, .The; local Lodge was established some 19 years ago, But suffered a serious set back by 'a, fire some eleven yeairs back. Last night’js function is , a milestone in the history of the Lodge as it again provides them with a permanent home and one they will have every reateon to be proud of for m’ainy years to come.
