ANNUAL MEETING OF PARISHIONERS.

The annual meeting of parishioners of the Anglican. Church was held on Wednesday evening when there was a good attendance of members. In reviewing the past year’s work the Rev. Mr Abbott said they had much cause of thanksgiving to Almighty God lor duany blessings bestowed on them and their work for His Kingdom. He said that though there ha. been no event in the church life of outstanding importance, to record, there has been steady quiet work going on, most of which "did not meet the eye. It was a pleasure to record the harmony among the church workers. He made special reference to the unfailing efforts of Mr Morgan as lay reader, stating he had been untiring m the discharge of his duties. He also thanked, the organists, the ladies \\‘!)o cared lor the church, and Mr W. H. Gunning and Mr Waring Taylor for their work. Socially, he said, during the year they had held fortnightly socials, though their aim was to raise funds but this was not the sole aim but to bring together old and young in social intercourse, that they mig’hi know each other better, break down reserve and provide clean healthy recreation, these socials had proved a g. cat success -both financially and socially. During the year’s work there had not. been a discordant- note and tie looked forward to the harmony ciiiitinuing. The election of church officers resulted. as followsSynodsman, Mr R.
