RUGBY UNION MEETS.

The weekly meeting oi' the Horowiienuu Rugby Union’s Management Cuumutiee was held on Tuesday evening unere being present, Messrs Grinir stone, Hutchings, Austin, Be van, Casey, Proctor, and the secretary, Mr L. Carmichael.

In the temporary absence oi Mr J. Proctor, who was attending a School Committee meeting, Mr H. McMillan was voted to the chair. R. Petihira, applied lor re-instate-ment irom senior to junior rank.—Relerred to previous ruling by connnittee on this point. A letter was received from the secretary oi the Wanderers’ Club, re the explanation demanded .by the committee at its last meeting as to why tihe Wanderers had used the Rep. jerseys in their match with Kuku and explaining that the jerseys ordered by the club, had not arrived in time foir the Kuku tnaftch. An attempt had been made to see the secretary of the management committee in order to obtain his consent to using the jerseys but as he could not, be found, and as the club was mnaware of the Union’s rulling against the use of its Rep. jerseys, it was thought, that there was no harm in borrowing them. Proposed by Mr Grimstone, seconded by Mr Hutchings: That the explanation of the Wanderers’ Club, re representative jerslefys be accepted—Carried.

Mr Davidson was appointed to take charge of the T’e Horo gates, vice Mr Bernhardt.

In the case of the player Tana, who was put off th© field for attempting to kick another player in ; the' Otaki-Hui Mai match on Saturday, the Committee took Into consideration the facts of this player’s excellent, previous record, and the fact that hie had received great provocation. Proposed by Mr Grimstone, seconded by Mr Austin: That Tana, of the Hui Mai Club, be severely cautioned, such caution to be taken into consideration should he again come before the Union to be dealt, with—Carried.

Proposed by Mr Grimstone, seconded by Mr McMillan: That any team, not being on the field in time io start the game, without a legitimate excuse, shall forfeit the match.—Carried.

Proposed by Mr Grimstone, seconded by Mr Austin: That the Kuku Club having entered senior, junior and third grade teams, and having delegates to the general annual meeting of the Horowhenua Rugby Union in respect to same, be notified tliai affiliation fees for all three grades must, be paid to the Union immediately.—Carried. Accounts to the amount of £2 12* were passed for payment.
