The Oroua Football Club wrote asking the Union to fix an early date for a return match.—lt was decided to write saying that a match would be arranged at a later date. In connection with the coming meet-

ing of the' N.Z. Rugby Union the chairman moved: “That the Union delegate (Mr J. O’Connor) be given a free hand, as a delegate.” He said the Union had perfect confidence in Mr O’Connor, and he would move to 1 that effect. Mr Sciascia seconded.

Mr O’Connor said he wished to draw attention to one point which was bound to come up—that, was the question of boundaries of Unions. He would like the Union to express an opinion as he would not like to commit the Union to an alteration of boundaries without its sanction. He explained that in the' South Island there were only about seven Unions, whilst in the North Island the number was considerably greater. Besides this the big Metropolitan Unions were jealous of the influence the smaller country Unions were gaining. These Unions wished to weld the smaller country unions together and so lower their representation. The chairman, with the permission of the seconder of the motion, then moved: “That the delegate be instructed to vote against amalgamation with any other Union whatever. In all other matters be to use his own discretion.”—Carried. FIXTURES AND REFEREES FOR SATURDAY. SENIORS.
