HELP THE BLIND.

MEETING OP OTAKI NATIVES,

Mr J. P. Braudon (Mayor) has received the following from Mr Clutha Mackenzie, which speaks for itself:— “Thank you for arranging for a meeting of the Maori people in June. The fund has been magnificently received on the East Coast, and many of the Maori people have contributed most generously. The Ngatiporo people gave mo a very warm welcome and gave me a magnificent feather mat in honour of the work I was doing. It was good to hear that the Otaki campaign was going so well. I should be glad if you would ask Mr Davies to take note that I have received direct from Abraham and Williams the sum of £l. being the proceeds of the sale of a wcaner calf belonging to Mr Kent, Rikiorangi. -My modest secretary has departed to Fiji where he is going to be secretary to the Governor.
