STOCK PRICES SLUMP. ( CHRISTCHURCH, Last Niglit. There was a slight all round easing at to-day’s Addington stock market. Store sheep had a smaller yarding, outside sheep being confined to Nelson and Marlborough. : Good ewes sold at about the same as last week, but interior were down by 2/ per head. Lambs and wethers just about retained their former values. Good 4,6, and 8-tooth ewes sold for 32/; ordinary 25/G to 28/; inferior 21/ to 24/; ordinary 2-tootli half-bred ewes 27/8 to 28/3; cull 2-tooth ewes 22/9 to 25/3; failing mouthed ewes 18/ to 23/; aged 12/10 to 16/6; forward lambs 23/3 to 23/8; good half-bred wether lambs 21/ to 21/4; ordinary 15/9 to 18/; cull 11/ to 13/10; ordinary 16/9 to 19/6; forward 4. 6, and 8-tooth wethers realised 25/1 to 26/4; ordinary 2-tootli wethers 23/10. Fat Lambs. —2570 were penned, and met with a further easing of 1/ to 1/6 per head. Values were from Sd to 9 l-8d per lb. Extra prime lambs fetched 32/ to 35/; prime 26/9 to 30/; medium 24/ to 26/6; light 21/ to 23/6. Fat sheep.—A medium yarding. Good wethers about held their previous values, there being few forward, but old ewes dropped by 2/ to 4/ per head. Wether mutton sold at from s:jd to 6d per lb, and freezers’ ewes from 4d to 4id. Extra prime wethers 33/6 to 36/6; a special line at 39/9; prime 29/6 to 33/; medium 27/ to 29/3; interior 23/6 to 26/6; prime ewes 25/ to 28/6; medium 22/ to 24/6; light 17/6 to 21/; old 13/6 to 17/. Eat Cattle. —317 animals were penned. Values were easier by 10/ to .15/. per head. Good beef averaged from 25/ to 26/6; extra to 27/6 per lOOlbs; medium 23/ to 24/6, inferior and rough beef from 22/ to 12/. Extra prime steers £l4; prime £lO 15/ to £l3; medium £8 to £lO 10/; light £5 15/ to £7 15/; extra prime heifers, £9 7/6; prime'£6 5/ to £8; ordinary, £4 to £6; prime cows £5 15/ to £8 .12/6; ordinary cows £3 15/ to £5 10/; old £2 5/ to £3 10/. Vealers met with a good sale. Good runners realised £5; ordinary £3 15/ to £4 15/; small calves 8/ upwards. Store Cattle. —A small entry and lower prices. Three-year steers £4 5/ to £4 15/; 2-year steers £2 15/ to £3 5/; yearlings 25/ to 30/; 2-year heifers £2 15/ to £3 10/; yearling heifers £2 to £2 7/6; bulls £2 10/ to £5. Dairy Cattle. —A small yarding, mostly of inferior sorts, which were practically unsaleable. Extra good springing heifers sold up to £l4, ordinary to good springing cows £5 to £ll 5/; inferior cows £1 15/. Fat pigs: Porkers improved in price. Choppers sold at £3 to £6 10/; light baconers £3 10/ to £4; heavy . baconers £4 7/ to £4 12/; extra heavy baconers £4 19/ (average price per lb, 6?.d to 7d); light porkers £2 5/ to £2 10/; heavy porkers £2 15// to £3 5/ (average price per lb 8d to 9d). Store pigs.—A small yarding and easier values. Weaners fetched 6/ to 14/; small stores 16/ to 18/; medium 25/ to 30/, large stores 48/.
