TOKOMARU ATHLETIC CLUB.
SUCCESSFUL MEETING. Glorious weather prevailed on Wednesday for the first, meeting of the newly-formed Tokomaru Athletic Club. There was a ,good attendance, quite a number journeying from Palmerston North and Shannon.- Since the formation of the club about three months ago, tlie members, have been hard at work m preparing the ground mid mpking the necessary ’arrangements for holding their first meeting, and it must have been very gratifying to them to- receive such large entries and good support from the pubj lie. The committee hope to effect big improvements to the grounds before the next meeting comes round. The secretary (Mr Clapham) and his committee are to be complimented on their excellent arrangements.
