RUGBY FOOTBALL.
MEETING OF UNION. A meeting of the Horowhenua Rugby Union was held at Mr E. Nash’s residence last week. There were present: Father Vibaud, Messrs. Percy, W. Bevan, M. Winiata, L. Dixon, E. Nash and L. Carmichael. Mr E. Nash occupied the chair. Before proceeding with the business of the meeting, a resolution of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr M. Moynihan was carried in silence, and the secretary was instructed to forward a wire to that effect.
Proposed by Mr Bevan, seconded by Mr Percy, “That the secretary write the Shannon and Foxton clubs that unless the outstanding gate money* is paid in to- the Uunon within seven days from date, the clubs will be suspended.”—Carried. Proposed by Mr Bevan, seconded by Mr Percy: “That Tokomaru Paraparaumu be notified' that tliey must play as senior teams this season.” Carried.
Proposed by Mr Bevan, seconded by Mr Winiata: “That the Classification Committee submit, the names of junior players for classification.” Carried.
Proposed by Mr Bevan, seconded by Father Vibaud: “That the secretary be granted an honorarium of £2O for his services.”—Carried.
Proposed by Father Vibaud, seconded by Mr Dixon: “That tbe secretary draw up and submit to the general meeting a money-raising scheme for the different teams, to raise funds for the Union.”—Carried.
Hearty votes of thanks to the chair and to Mr Nash for the use of his room , concluded the meeting.
