AN AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB.
FORMED FOR SHANNON. On Friday evening there, was a large attendance at the meeting convened by the Mayor for the purpose of forming an Athletic Club. It was unanimously agreed to form a club, to be known as “Shannon Amateur Athletic Club.” The following officers were elected:— Patrons: Messrs. All. Seifert and McPherson. President: Mr J. T. Bovis.
Vice-Presidents: Messrs. T. and R. Moynihan, H. Hook, J. H. Fargher, J. Murray, A. de Luen, Roach, McKegg, Murphy, W.' Carter,' Dinnie, Gunning, Hyde, Dalzeil, Warrington, Loughnan, Greedy, Wilkinson, Franks, George; Clayton, Aim, Burne, McPherson, E. Spencer, Dickhoff, Watterston, Baird, Hallam, Randall, W. Quarrie, Crowtfier, P. Gill and J. Curran. Secretary: Mr Geo. Watkins. Treasurer: Mr Downes.
Organising Committee:' Messrs. J. Gray, J. McDonald, J. Parovand, L. Satherley, J. Sinclair, F. Franks, T. Wood, R. Downes, T. Logan, S. Anderson, C. Logan) G. Woods, H. Young, S. Pedersen, D. Knock, W. Murdoch, J. Murray; T. Watterstoa. and H. Hook.
Management Committee: Messrs. Downes, Growther, T. Woods, Young, McDonald, G. Woods, Murray, Watterston, Hook, Bovis and Watkins. The secretary was instructed to obtain all particulars •re registration fee, rules, etc., also to write other clubs and get any information possible re their rules, etc. It was decided to hold the first sports meeting at the Recreation Ground on April 21.
