THE WAITER SUPPLY.
NO FURTHER ADVICE REQUIRED
At Tuesday’s Borough Council meeting, Cr. Gardner said he understood nothing had been done in regard to the. owners of the land through which the pipes are to be laid. The Mayor said he had written the Engineer for plans, but he had not got the numbers of sections. He had seen the Owners concerned, and they were all agreeable, but (he had not got them signed up. Cr. Fargher said the Engineer had impressed on the Council that it should be done.
Cr. Gardner said a committee had been appointed, and they should have carried out their duty. The Mayor said it would be attended to at once. '
Cr. Murray wanted to, know if the councillors were satisfied the water scheme can be carried out without first obtaining the opinion of another engineer.
The Mayor stated, and the other councillors endorsed thei Mayor’s statement, that if a second engineer was called in and they did not agree, we would have to call in a third, and there would be no finality, and further, that the scheme was so simple it did not require further advice.
