Only the faint, est breeze was stirring, but there was just enough uncertainty about its variations to catch men napping sometimes. As the morning progressed conditions became more difficult, and 1 the 600 yards of the Auckland match proved the undoing of promising scores brought back from the 300 yards. Following is the prize list of the Wellington match, 10 shots each at 300 and 600 yards (possible 100): H. C. The Trentham Aggregate, for the highest scores at all 300, 500 and 600 yards ranges in the Belt series (possible 455), resulted!—James (Napier) 409pts, £5; Croxton (Karori) 404pts, £4; Carter (Petdne), 402pts, £3; Bry. den (Kaiapoi) 401pts, £2. James thus wins the Trentham Aggregate, and leads for the belt. Sir R. Heaton Rhodes,Minister of Defence, visited the range to-day and watched the shooting for some time. James and Croxton, first and second in the Trentham Aggregate, are both ex-champions. Other gold medalists well up are: Masefield tenth, L. Loveday twelfth, Roots twenty-fourth.
