CONFERENCE AT DUNEDIN,

DUNEDIN, Last Night. The forty-fourth annual meeting of the United Fire Brigades’ Association opened this morning, Captain Lucas presiding. The delegates were welcomed by the Deputy-Mayor, who referred to the unfair way Fire Boards were treated by 'the Government, but congratulated the Association on establishing an accident insurance fund.The annual report showed a credit balance of £35. One hundred and twenity-six brigades are affiliated to the Association. Mr Downie Stewart will meet the delegates in conference to-morrow.
