NATIVE LAND COURT.

' 5 ❖ HOKIO BLOCK The Native Land Court commenced its session in Levin on Tuesday, the 27tli inst. There is a large amount of work to 'be got through; and it is doubtful if it'will he cleared in’the time allotted. Tuesday . and Wednesday were devoted to Land Court business. Thursday is set aside for Board work, dealing with confirmation oi leases, transfers and mortgages. The Remainder of the time will be spent on Land Court affairs.

Two meeting nave already *been held, and it ha been decided to put aside .100 acres on the .south side' of the present township, and another 100 acres on the north of the stream for sale for building purposes. There are; about SO claimants! in .the Block at present, and another meeting is being held for the purpose of. examining claims'and eliminating any doubtful claimants, with a view of expediting business when the case comes .before the'Court It is expected that- the . case will be finally settled at this session of the Court.
