THE SCHOOL PICNIC.

Saturday morning in Shannon was vegy boisterous, ' but nevertheless shortly before 7 a.m. children commenced to gather at the local railway station to proceed to Plimmerton by special train on their annual excursion 1 6 the seaside. Over 600 children and adults made the trip, and many more would have gone had the morning been fine. However, those who faced it were rewarded with fine weather, although cloudy, and a most enjoyable day was spent- in games, sports, etc. The arrangements- were in the hands 1 of the committee, and it is safe to s’ay every child had a big day. They left, on the return journey at 4.30 p.m., reaching Shannon shortly before 7 p.m., tired but happy.
