The second round of the Horowhenua competition was concluded last Saturday, and the first, matches of the third round will be played to-morrow.
Unfavourable weather has interfered a good deal with the fixtures, and so- far the games are three weeks in arrears, so that if the fourth round is played it will be well on towards the end of April before the competition will conclude.
The position after/playing th« two first rounds is that Shannon and-We-raroa are leading with 12 points each, Y.M.C.A. two ; points behind with 10, and Public Works and Foxton 2 points each.

The Weraroa batsmen’s running between the wickets was not too good on Saturday, no less than three being run out.
O’Connor had bad luck in playing a ball on to his wicket before he' had opened his scoring account.
