MOYNIHAN-BUTLER

A wedding which created a considerable amount of interest In Shannon was solemnised with nuptial mass by the Rev. James Forrestal, at St. Joseph’s Church, on Tuesday morning, • when Mary Eileen, eldest daughter of Mr and iMrs W.- Butler, of Stout Street, was united in the bonds of holy!matrimony with Thomas Patrick, youngest son of Mr and the late Mrs Michael Moynihan. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, was daintily attired in a gown of exquisite simplicity, which was composed of White. Duchess satin, with sleeves of georgette, and tulle veil, beautifully embroidered, and coronet of orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of asters, blush roses and asparagus fern. The bride was attended by her youngest sister, Miss Mary Butler, who wore a simple frock of white embroidered muslin and, »ob cap, ahd carried a basket of Mowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Martin Curran as groomsman. Owing to a recent family bereavement, the reception was confined to relatives only of the bridal party. The gifts were numerous and costly, including many cheques, amozlg the presents being- a solid leather suitcase from the Shannon Tennis Club, of which the happy couple are both members. Both the bride and bridegroom are very popular, and the church was thronged with spectators. The bridal march from “Lohengrin,” Murphy’s “Ave Maria,” and Mendelssohn's “Wedding March” were played during the ceremony. Tire bride’s ’ travelling dress, was a> very handsome one of pearl'grey cloth, hat and‘wrap to match. The hpneymoon is being spent on a prolonged tour of the South Island. -
