SHANNON STOCK SALE.

The first monthly sale of the New Year was held at the Shannon yards yesterday afternoon, when there was a good attend ace of buyers. A good yarding of sheep and si ore cattle came forward. Bidding was much keener than usual for sheep offered, and they met with a good sale, the prices obtained being quite up to those obtained in other parts. Cattle sold at ruling prices and the sale was the best held.here for some time. Following are the prices obtained:—Sheep-rhill lambs 18/, 19/, cull lambs 10/2, 12/11, 2-th ewes 25/; breeding ewes 24/4, fat sheep 29/, 30/10. Cattle: Weaner heifers 32/. 36/, 37/, 39/, Jersey weaner heifer £4 5/, fat cows £4 2/6, £5 to £6 147, fat bullocks £7 1/, £7 18/, forward' cows £2 1/, £2 10/, £3 M, 2-year steers £3 9/ to £3 12/6, heifers in calf £2 10/ to £4 7/6.'
