The Feilding mare Hallowroz got away with the Pahiatua Handicap ihi>. week. Congratultions to H. Batten, who deserves any success coming his way. It was hard luck for the connections of Loyal Maid, who fell, in the Makuri Hack. This mare is very well at the present time, and the race Jookefl well in her keeping.

The Palmerston-owned Redlogue was taken to Otaki after the Mnrton meeting and will be trained there in future.
The late Arthur McConnon's horses, Prince Ferouz and Paphian, have been starting successfully on the West Coast during the holiday racing there. Tito deceased trainer made two or .three trips to the Coast with this pair, but met with little success, and after the racing last Easter left the horses with his brothers. The sports of this district will be pleased to see that both horses have carried their owner's colours to victory lately. At the West land- meeting on the first day, Prince Ferouz ran second to Probate in the Provincial Handicap, and Paphian annexed the Christmas Handicap (five furlongs). On the second day Prince Ferouz won the big handicap, and his stable-mate was third in a five and a-half furlongs with 9.5 on his back.
Printemps is striking form again by winning the President's Handicap at Tauherenikau. The Levin-owned Beloved was second. The North Island horse Probate started successfully at the West Coast meetings, but Kikini, also hailing from Uiese parts, did not do much good. The ex-North Islander, Lord Ashlea, won two races at Reefton this week.
After being out of commission for some time, Royal Gift is among the acceptors at Paliiatua to-day, and starts in the big race with 6.13. Glentruin, an imported mare owned in Southland, is regarded as one of the smartest sprinters in the Dominion to-day. Printemps and Jackaroo have been nominated by Trainer Goodman for Foxton, and there is every probability of the pair visiting the seaside meeting. A little over a year ago Income changed hands at a modest figure, and since then he has won about £6OOO in stakes.
When Stork won the Stratford Cup he was the outsider of the field. The stewards of the Auckland Racing Club have advised the owners of Paddington Green that his nomination will not be accepted in future, owing to.his behaviour at the post.
The Foxton meeting this month will be the diamond jubilee of the club, and a special race is on the programme to commemorate the occasion.
