BOWLING.
A party of New South Wales bowlers, who ai’e shortly to tour the Dominion, will visit Palmerston North at the end of January.
Wednesday next, January 10, and Saturday, January 13, have been setaside for the gala days of the Manawatu Centre, when the following clubs have been invited to send rinks-.
Wednesday, January 10, at. Terrace End green: Palmerston North, Manawatu, Feilding and Northern, two ■each.
Saturday, January 13, at the Shannon green: Nine visiting rinks being arranged for, which are as loliowS: Foxton (2), Levin (2), Palmerston North (2), Manawatu (1), Terrace End (1), and Northern (1). Shannon will be putting five rinks on the green, and given a fine day a most pleasant afternoon’s play is anticipated. In the country clubs’ match against the visiting Queensland team at Palmerston North on Friday last, Shannon was represented by Messrs. Murphy and Spencer. They had for rink partners Messrs. Horn and Wardrop, of Woodville, the latter gentleman as skip, and were successful, alter a splendid game, in winning by 31 to 12. Roth players received a souvenir of the visit.
