PLUNKET SHIELD MATCH.
WON BY AUCKLAND,
DUNEDIN, Last night.
The Plunket Shield match, Auckland v. Otago, was concluded to-day on a good wicket, but with an outfield somewhat slower than the previous days. The weather was again good. Auckland made 363 in their second innings, which meant that Otago had to make 302 to win. Otago’s opening batsmen failed, and though the tail wagged, the task was too heavy. Cecil Alloo, Duncan and Knight were all rather unfortunate, as each was dismissed as the result of difficult chances being taken. Details: AUCKLAND. First innings 2HI Second Innings.
