THE FEILDING SHOW.

Schedules for the Feilding A. and P. fchuw, to be held on 6th and 7th February, 1923, are now available, and a glance through will convince those interested that this progressive Association has left nothing undone to cater lor breeders and the public. Ring events comprise ladies’ steeplechase, maiden and open jumps, maiden arid open pony jumps, sheep dog trials, musical stalls for ladies, ana other attractive events. There are also two motor-cycle races, 8 miles and 10 miles, to be run on the second day. Of course, the usual classes are included for ponies, horses, cattle, sheep, etc., and we would draw attention to a special prize of £5. 5/ for the best mannered and paced pony in that section, irrespective ol height. Here is a chance for the youngsters. In the purebred cattle section the prize money for Jersey females ba.been considerably increased, and the classes for ail breeds are most comprehensive. The dairy classes are a very strong feature at the Feilding Show, the inducement no doubt being the liberal prize money offered. In the fat sheep and lamb sections the export classes always diaw very good entries. Exhibits in these classes r.m killed and sent to London for judging and sale, and, in addition to the prizemoney on show judging they have the chance of annexing a trophy ami more prize-money on the receipt of results from London, and what will appeal to exhibitors is the fact that this show stock always fetches a higher price than that ruling at the time it is sold. Farmers’ and purebred sheep sections have a prominent place in the schedule, and the Romney Marsh shields for the best ram and ewe in the North Island will be competed for a! this fixture. There are the usual classes for the ladies in the cookery and needlework sections, and in the latter several classes for girls under 17 have been introduced. It would take a week pointing out the special features of the prize-list, but space is limited. There is a large number of trophies, some to be won outright, in the various sections. The annual Ram Fair takes place on the two days following the show, namely Bth and 9th February. Entries for both close on January. 19. Schedules for the show, and entry forms and conditions for the Ram Fair, will be forwarded on application to the secretary.
