FOXTON DIAMOND JUBILEE MEETING. j ,
The Foxton Racing Club will reach the sixtieth year of its existence next liirnth, 'and will mark the occasion bj holding a Diamond Jubilee Meeting on January 20 and 22. The club I was formed in 1863, and is therefore j one of the oldest in New Zealand, and holds a deservedly popular place both I with owners and the racing public. I I The programme for the Jubilee meeting includes a special race to commemorate the club’s sixtieth birthday, j This will be the Foxton Diamond Ju- j bilee Cup, 1863-1923 (open) of 370sovs, together with a cup valued at 45gns to the winner, presented by the Manawatu Racecourse Trustees. This Pace wil be. run on the first, day. Other events on the first day are: Hurdles of 150sovs, Himatangi Hack 140sovs, Maiden 140sovs, Hack Welter 140sovs, Anniversary Handicap 180sovs, Maro- J tiri Hack 140sovs, and Herrington ] Open Welter 180sovs. The second day programme is: Hurdles 150sovs. Whifokino Hack 140sovs, President’s Handicap 270sovs, Maiden 140sovs. Hack Welter 140sovs, Wharangi Handicap 180sovs, Apprentices’ Handicap 14f)sovs, Moutoa Open Welter 180sov.
