SHANNON TOWN CLERK.

MR I. T. BO VIS APPOINTED. Owing to the resignation of Miss Cameron from the position of Town Clerk, applications were called about three weeks ago for the position, which came before the Council at its last meeting, and were held over unlit Tuesday night, when the final selection was made. Seven pplications were received. After being carefully considered, the choice fell on Mr J. T. Bovis, who will take up his duties from January 1 as town clerk, treasurer and rate collector. Mr Bovis previously held this position, having been the first Town* Clerk when Shannon became a borough, and during his term of offlod rendered valuable services.
