Owing to Mr Flyger, the Liberal candidate, being unable to visit Koputaroa this evening, Mr Murdoch has been asked to address the electors there on his behalf. The friends of Mr L, Randall will be sorry to hear that he is indisposed, and it is to be hoped that he will soon be about again.

So powerful is thet appeal of Haddon and Papakura that'at the great rally at Palmerston on Sunday afternoon, the audience voluntarily contributed a sum of £l4O to the fighting fund for Prohibition. These; men may be heard at the Maoriland Theatre, Shannon, to-night.

We learn that the subsidy that the Government has granted towards providing for a doctor lor the men employed at the Mangahao hydro works was due to- Mr Linklater’s earnest representations to the Prime Minister. When asked at Arapeti whether lie was in favour of the subsidy being granted he assured his audience that whether in or out of Parliament he would do his veiy best to get the subsidy granted, and this is the result of his efforts.

It is alleged that for some time the youths of Tokomaru have been procuring liquor in the township, and certain happenings apparently caused Constable McGregor to .inquire into the matter.
