THE ELECTION TRAIN.
Sgeaking at Porirua last evening, Mr W. H. Field dealt at length with the new train service on the Manawatu : line, which he. said had already receiv- | ed the name of “The Election Train,” ! but that did notjnatter so long as they ' got the train, and it was better late than never. He had been asked how long it would remain, and he replied that it was a permanent change if The people, by making use of the new trains, showed that they required them. His interrogator had then rejoined: “Some tell us they will be 'taken off after the election is over.” “I will be back to see about that,” said Mr Field.
