SHANNON V. WERAROA. This match was played at Shannon on Saturday afternoon. The Weraroa team batted first, making a total of 82 runs. This looked a good thing for Shannon, but they put up a very poor batting performance. They started off well, putting up 56 runs before the third wicket fell, and it looked as if they could not. lose. However, the iemaining wickets fell very quickly to the bowling of Pringle and McGill. Special mention must be made of that young player, Cliff Hunt, who again registered top score for Shannon with a total of 24 runs. On the whole Shannon’s fielding was poor, and they will have to liven up, otherwise they will lose more games. Of the Weraroa team, Claridge was the only player to offer any opposition, he putting up the fine score of 43 before he was caught by Abbot. The following are the scores:—-
