TN pursuance of the Licensing Act, 1908, and the amendments thereto, I, Vincent Joseph Delany, Returning Officer for the Manawatu Licensing District, do hereby give notice that on the 7th day of December, 1922, the day appointed for taking the Electoral Poll for the Electoral District of Manawatu, simultaneously therewith a LICENSING POLL will be taken upon the following proposals:— NATIONAL CONTINUANCE. STATE PURCHASE AND CONTROL, NATIONAL PROHIBITION. Nominations of persons to appoint scrutineers in accordance with the Licensing Act, 1908, and the amend-’ ments thereto, in respect of each of the- said proposals must be lodged with me not later than five o’clock in the afternoon. of the 30th day of : November, 1922. And I hereby give notice that I shall on the 2nd day of December, 1922, at the hour of 10 o’clock in the forenoon at my office in Ross’s j Buildings, Foxton, publicly consider t all nomination papers of persons to appoint scrutineers which have been duly lodged in respect of the said Licensing Poll. IN pursuance of the Legislature Act, 1908, arid its amendments, I, Vincent Joseph Delany, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of ManawatU, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a wrif bearing date the 16th day of November, 1922, under the hand of the Clerk of the Writs, an election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as member for the said district, and that the latest hour for receiving nominations of candidates will be noon on the 27th day of November, 1922, and that the poll, if necessary, will be taken at the several polling-places of the said district on the 7th day of December, 1922. Every person desirous of becoming a candidate must be nominated by not less than two electors of the district, by a nomination-paper as prescribed by section 105 of the said Act, delivered to the Returning Officer on or before NOON on the 27th day of November, 1922.
