SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING.
The November meeting of the Shannon School Committee Avas held last Tuesday. Present: Messrs. Watkins (presiding), Anderson, Downes, Birchall and Carlyle. Mr Vovsev (head teacher) was also in attendance. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE,
From Messrs. Wilkinson and Hyde, in reply to a request for reduction of hire charge for sclTool concert, stating they are unwilling to- make a reduction for the hire of theatre, but- arc quite willing to give a donation to the school picnic funds. —Received. From the Returning Officer for electoral district of Manawatu, ■with not ification that, the school will be'required for use as a polling-place in connection with the forthcoming Parliamentary election, and.ask I’og 1 ’ og information where the key of school can he obtained. —Received and decided the secretary reply giving the particulars asked for. GENERAL. 1 1 Owing to some of the young trees in front •of the school dying, it was decided to obtain and plant fresh two-year-old trees in the gaps. Accounts amounting to 18/8 were passed for payment.
