THE BOROUGH HOUSES.
NO APPLICATIONS FOR THEM
It is rather disappointing to learn that, in sptie ot' the outcry about the housing difficulty in Shannon, there are no applications for the two houses erected by the Borough Council, and offered at the modest rental of 19/ per week, this sum not only paying the rent but liquidating the' principal in a term of years. The dwellings are comfortable cottages, and on the face of it there does not seem ,to be any reason why they should" not be in demand.
The Borough Council went into committee on Tuesday night to consider the matter, and after a long discussion, decided to hold the matter of selling over until next meeting.
