THE KENNEDY REFLOATED.
STRANDED FOR EIGHT DAYS. The S.S. Kennedy, which grounded on the south spit when crossing the Manawatu bar inwards from Wellington last Friday week, was refloated, on Saturday morning and proceeded to the Foxton wharf, where she discharged her cargo. So far as can be ascertained no material damage has been done to the vessel or cargo. Mr Signal and those assisting in the: refloating of the steamer have put in a most anxious time during very trying circumstances and stormy weather.
A man named Williamson, one of the crew, had the misfortune to have bis arxn fractured on Thursday owing to the breaking of a hawser. He proceeded to ihis home in Wellington.
The Kennedy will sail for Wellington at 5 p.m. on Monday.
