COUNTRY CLUBS’ COMPETITIONS
The following are the conditions governing country club competitions: As far as possible the Management. Committee wish it to bei understood that arrangements as to personnel of teams, dates of matches and places of play may be left to the clubs concerned, and if no agreement can be arrived at, then the' conditions as laid down must be adhered to. The personnel of teams is as follows, unless the two clubs agree otherwise: Four men’s singles, three men’s doubles, two ladies singles, 2 Indies’ doubles, 2 combined doubles. Each match will be the best of three advantage sets. The following are the drawings for the Country Club Competition, D group:— First round by November 30: Foxton v. Shannon at Foxton; Levin v. Otaki at Otaki.
Second round by December 31: Foxton v. Levin at Levin: Shannon v. Otaki at Shannon.
Third round by January 31: Levin v. Shannon at Levin, Foxton v. Otaki at Otaki.
Fourth round by February 28: Winner of “D” group v. Winner of “G”
group. Fifth round by March 31: Winner of fourth round v. winner between “A” and “B” groups. Sixth round to be arranged for early April: Country Club winner v. Town Club.
The following team has been selected to represent Shannon against Foxton at,Foxton in the opening game of the Country Clubs’ competition:— Ladies: Miss E. Butler, Mrs Carter, Mrs Whibley, Mrs Boris. Gents: Messrs, j. Hennessey,' W. Quarrie, G. Murphy, J. T. Bovis, .7. V. Bums and Dr. Evans.
