FAILING TO ATTEND SCHOOL
John Laughton took action on behalf of the Education Department, against Puki Berawiti for failing to send his child to school. There was no apparance of defendant, who was convicted and fined 10/, with costs 18/6.
POLICE CASES. The police proceeded against Reginald Collier and L. W. Mudgway for the recovery of certain articles of uniform issued to them as members o; e Defence forces. The defendants failed to appear. Collier was convicted and ordered to pay 7/5, value of property, and 7/ costs, and Mudgway was convicted and ordered to pay costs 7/.
Police v. John O’Keefe, for being in possession of a firearm longer than seven days without registering same. Defendant pleaded guilty, and was convicted and fined 10/ and 7/ costs. BY-LAW CASES. „ Convictions and fines were recorded against the following defendants hr'breaches of the borough by-lawj in regard to cycling at night without lights, the-fines being 5/ and 7/ costs in each case: G. Lee, Bert Spooner, W. J. Makey, P. Knox, C. Dunn, L. A. Humphrey, Thomas Gibson, E. Sharp, C. Laing, C. W. Foster, R. H. Russell, ,S. E. Aldwinckle, James Mudgway and R, Prior.
R. J. Rolston and E .Hogg, for driv ing unlighted vehicles at night without lights, \Verd each fined 10/ and costs 7/. - ■

JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. Hemi Hohihia was ordered to pay Harper and Merton £5 7/9 forthwith, default being seven days in gaol. J. B. Coley v. Abraham Royal, claim £3 9/. Debtor was ordered to pay forthwith, nr take s»even days’ imprisonment ■ • • B. Plank was ordered to pay the Wairarapa Trading Company £9 6/2 in instalments of £2 per month, seven days in gaol being the alternative. W. H. Simms and Sons obtained an order against D. E. Porter for the payment of £35 12/ at the rate of £2 per month, the default being 28 days’ j gaol.
