THE LEVIN SALE.
WEANER PIGS MAKE GOOD PRICE*
The usual sale on Tuesday brought out a large entry of pigs, particularly in the weaner class. The demand for these' was a good one, and the prices realised went up to 24/, The increasing feed supply no doubt accounts loi the improved inquiry. Stores and porkers, however, were quitted at about the previous week’s rates, the pig sale on the whole, being gootl. Sheep were poorly represented, and amounted to only a few pens. Cattle were a medium entry. Fats maintained the improvement that set in a little time back, and good (lass dairy cows met firm inquiry, the best sort" reaching from £lO 1o £l-4. The following are a summary of the prices realised:—,
Pigs.—Wean crs 13/6, 15/, 18/, 22/ an.i 2-4/, stores 25/, ?f>\ 27 T» to 34/6, porkers 30/ to 32/ (light), and up to £2 1 and £2 2/. Sheep.—Hoggets 21 6, Romney cowhoggets (nice lot) 82/6.
Cattle.—Forward bullocks £5 .18/. fat and forward cows £4 8/, store cows to £2 19/, springing heifers £9 to £9 10/, dairy cows £7 to- £lO and up to £l4.
