Tim death took pla.ee on Monday afternoon of Mr Arthur McConnon, Devin, at the age of 42 years. For some time Mr McConnon has been in indifferent health, and lately underwent, an operation, but- failed to get any permanent relief. Yesterday his condition necessitated further medical attention, and, accompanied by friends he left by motor for Wellingtom at 1.30 p.m. The journey, however;, appears to have accelerated the attack, and his condition grew worse', and he succumbed at Johnsonville, During his residence in Levin, Mr McConnon followed up horse training, and met with varying success. In his younger days he was one of the leading horsemen of the Dominion, and several times headed the list of winning jockeys. His most important win was the Grand National Hurdles on Medallius, and he also won several other big jumping ra««. Of a genial disposition, the late Mr McConnon had many friends, who will regret the news, of his death. The funeral will take place in Levin to-morrow afternoon.
