The use of test charts, the trying l on of numerous glasses and asking numerous questions is still the only method of sight testing that ORDI-NARY'so-called opticians practice, but it is a terribly misleading practice, even when adults are concerned. In the case of children it is dangerously inaccurate, and may result in permanent injury to the eyes. Mr Russell, of Russell, Limited, Auckland and Palmerston North, is not an ordinary Optician. He does not use test charts or ask questions. He examines' the. eyes with the aid of a little instrument called the Visoptometre, which enables him to see clearly and unmistakably exactly what is wrong with them. No questions are asked. Not a word is spoken durin gthe examination, but Mr Russell’s superior knowledge (the result of 26 years’ constant study and practice) enables him with unerring exactitude to diagnose and correct any fault. If your eyes are dangerously impaired or require the attention of a skilled surgeon, Mr Russell will know and advise you correctly. If you have been wearing faulty glasses he will detect it at once. If your eyes are normal but have been unduly strained, he will tell you.
