NINE SHIPLOADS OF APPLES.

GREAT CONSIGNMENTS FROM NEW ZEALAND TO LONDON.

i'he first apples from New Zealand nave been arriving at Covent Garden, London, and there are indications that the season will be a record one.

Thanks to the visit to England last year of Mr George Stratford, a New Zealand Government expert, to examine the conditions prevailing in London, and elsewhere, new methods of packing have been adopted and the fruit is arriving in much better condition.

Nine vessels have sailed from Wellington with apples on board, two being destined for Glasgow and the remainder for London.

The total consignments, by the time that the last vessel, the Atlantic, arrives towards the end of next month, will amount to close on 4,000,0001 b of apples—Daily Mail.
