A BETTER SALE.
IMPROVEMENT IN LOCAL MARKET
The Levin sale on Tuesday found a better tune prevailing and on the whole was the best experienced for some time. The sheep yarding was noi large but the entries sold well, prime maiden-ewes going to 32/, fat hoggets to 23/ and medium fat wethers to 23/9. The dairy section of the cattle entry was also brighter than usual, especially for good quality heifers at drop, which sold well, as did the best of the cows. In pigs, weaners and stores met the best enquiry, but - porkers are still dull owing to the condition tf the bacon market.
