GOVERNMENT WANTING MARKET. FORCING WELLINGTON'S HAND. Wellington, August 12. Negotiations are in progress between the City. Council and the Public Works Department in regard to the supply of hydro-electric poAver from Mangahao. Difficulty has arisen regarding the reported desire of the Department to insist on the corporation taking more current than'"what it Avill really require, in vieAV of the fact that the neAV poAver-house will be available to reinforce the city’s supply from Mangahao. It is assumed that the Department’s policy is actuated because some poAver boards in the Wellington province will not be ready to take poAver from Mangahao Avhen it becomes available.
